Setting up or fixing an AS2 connection
This section applies to suppliers and retailers who exchange EDI with Logicbroker by AS2, and to the EDI provider or VAN that runs AS2 for them. For some retailers, the retailer's team or Logicbroker sets up the connection for you. Check your retailer's onboarding instructions.
What you need
From your side (or your EDI provider):
- your EDI qualifier and ID;
- your AS2 ID;
- your AS2 URL;
- your public AS2 certificate as a .cer or .crt file.
From Logicbroker: the AS2 ID, URL, IP address and certificate in the tables above. The portal shows the same details. Go to Connections > EDI, click Edit on your connection in My EDI Connection, and look under Logicbroker connection details. These details show only when Connection method is AS2 (HTTP) or AS2 (HTTPS). The AS2 port is 80 for HTTP or 443 for HTTPS.
Stage and Production are separate. Use the Stage values while you test, and set up a separate connection in the Production portal before you go live.
Set up the connection in the portal
- Go to Connections > EDI.
- In My EDI Identifiers, click Add my identifiers and enter your qualifier and ID.
- In My AS2 Certificates, click Add a new AS2 certificate and upload your certificate.
- In My EDI Connection, click Edit. Set Connection method to AS2 (HTTP) or AS2 (HTTPS), then fill in Address URL, Logicbroker's AS2 ID, My AS2 ID and AS2 Certificate.
- Click Test Connection, then Continue. The connection works when you see Connection Successful!.
- Click Save.
For certificate changes, see Replacing an expired AS2 certificate.
"Test failed: Timeout."
Logicbroker could not reach your AS2 server in time. This can start after a change on your side, such as a new server, IP address or URL. While the connection fails, orders sent to you fail too.
- Check that Address URL matches your current AS2 URL, including the port.
- Check that your firewall allows traffic from Logicbroker's IP address, 23.101.133.17.
- Check that your AS2 server is running and accepts messages from Logicbroker's AS2 ID.
- Fix the address if needed, run Test Connection again and click Save.
After the test passes, ask Logicbroker Support to resend the orders that failed while the connection was down. Give the order numbers.
"Test failed: HTTP protocol error. 401 Unauthorized."
Your AS2 server rejected the message before AS2 processing, because it expects a login. Check the URL and connection details in My EDI Connection. Logicbroker cannot present its AS2 certificate as a TLS client certificate. Ask your AS2 team to accept AS2 messages from Logicbroker at that URL without a separate login.
"Unable to load certificate for AS2 receiver identifier ..."
The connection for that AS2 ID has no certificate Logicbroker can use. This happens when a certificate was never added, or when a Production connection was not set up after Stage testing. Upload the certificate in My AS2 Certificates, select it in AS2 Certificate on the connection, then test again. If you don't see a Production connection, set one up in the Production portal.
Negative MDN or "insufficient-message-security"
The receiving server could not accept the message security. The certificate or the algorithms do not match. Check that the connection uses the current certificate and the encryption and signing your partner requires. See Your partner requires AES encryption or SHA-256 signing.
Files you send to Logicbroker don't appear
Your MDN may show success, but the document does not appear in the portal.
- Check that you post to the right URL and AS2 ID for the environment. Stage uses STAGELOGICBROKERAS2. Production uses LOGICBROKERAS2.
- Check that the receiver ID in your EDI header matches the EDI ID your retailer or Logicbroker gave you.
- Check that the order you are responding to is still open. A test order may have moved to Ignored, and a new one created in its place.
An old connection is still in use
If you moved to a new EDI provider or AS2 profile, documents can still go to the old one. In My EDI Connection, check the Partner and Document type columns for each row. Edit the old connection override and clear Enabled, or click Remove. You can't remove the default connection, so edit it and enter the new details instead. If the old connection is not listed or you can't change it, ask Logicbroker Support to disable it and give the new AS2 ID.
What to send Support
- your company name and company ID (CoId);
- the retailer or partner;
- Stage or Production;
- your AS2 ID and AS2 URL, and the EDI qualifier and ID you send from or to;
- the exact error from Test Connection, or the MDN;
- the PO numbers or document IDs affected, and a copy of the EDI file in .edi format if you sent one;
- what changed recently and what you already tried.
